George Wolf originally opened Wolf's Tavern as a bakery in 1878. A few years later, he added a saloon in the back of the building. After prohibition, Frank Wolf, George's son, reopened it as a tavern. In 1951, Augusta Wolf Wilhelm, George's granddaughter, purchased the tavern and kept it going until 1997, when Tom Davis bought it. Located at the corner of First and Green streets in Henderson, Kentucky, it is also a sponsor of the WC Handy Blues & Barbeque Festival.
